What it is. A short walk through the main window on the built-in demo signal. Each step dims the window except the part it describes and shows a small callout next to it. It is the fastest way to learn where things are, and you do not need a radio.
- The tour starts by itself on the first run (unless you ticked Don't show again, which is on by default; unticked, the tour comes back at the next start).
- Help > Guided tour in the menu bar, or the Tour button in the classic top bar ("Take the guided tour"). In the touch layout, More > Tour.
- The first-run Setup wizard is separate: run it again from Help > Setup wizard.
| Step | What it points at |
|---|---|
| Source | The radio or recording that supplies samples. Record IQ saves the raw signal for later playback. |
| Tuning and gain | Frequency, band and sample rate. Gain and AGC set the input level; Second mode decodes another mode from the same capture. |
| Modes | The mode list, grouped by family, with a search box. |
| Spectrum and waterfall | Click to tune, scroll to zoom. Peak hold keeps the strongest level seen on each frequency. |
| Mode panel | Each mode has its own tabs for decoded output, settings and tools; they change with the mode. |
| Memory and frequencies | The Memory panel, the Frequency database and band plans. |
| Receivers | Each receiver pairs a radio with a mode. The strip switches between them and chooses which one plays sound. |
| Audio | Listen plays the demodulated signal; volume and mute are here; Record audio saves it (guide). |
| Server and support | Server sends decoded positions to the public map (Map sharing); Support helps fund development. |
| Help | Documentation, troubleshooting, credits and licences; Guided tour starts it again. |
Steps whose part is not visible in your layout are skipped.
Next, Back, Skip and Done. The left and right arrow keys also move between steps. Tick Don't show again to stop the automatic start. In the touch layout there are no such parts on screen, so every step appears as a centred note.
- Run the tour once with the demo signal, then press Setup wizard to pick your radio and country.
- If you changed the window layout, use Reset layout (View menu) before the tour so every part is visible.
- The tour changes nothing in your settings, except remembering whether to start automatically.
