Good linearity and a clean converter; the HF+ is the narrow-channel specialist.
- Tested with an Airspy R2 on Linux (ATSC). The R2 runs at 10 Msps for TV; the Mini has not been tried for TV. The Mini's unofficial 10 Msps is offered (0.2.4).
- The gain is the linearity gain, 0 to 21.
- 10 Msps needs a decent CPU: a 2-core laptop could not keep up with live ATSC.
- On Windows install the WinUSB driver with Zadig.
On Debian or Ubuntu:
sudo apt install libairspy0 airspy
sudo usermod -aG plugdev $USER # log out and back in
# replug the radio, then check it shows up
airspy_info
- Specified for HF and 60 to 260 MHz, narrow channels only (no TV).
- Stopping it no longer crashes (fixed in 0.2.5, issue 78; a later report for 0.2.5 / 0.2.6 is open).
- The CDR (China Digital Radio) mode accepts the HF+'s 912 ksps rate (0.2.6).
- On Windows install WinUSB with Zadig.
