Radio Sound card
For HF decoders at the capture rate, not for megahertz of bandwidth.
New in 0.2.6, not in 0.2.5.
In the radio list choose Sound card: ... (including Default input). Typical uses: a WebSDR, a virtual audio cable (VAC), or a handheld radio's speaker or line output into the computer, for HF decoders (FT8, RTTY, CW, SSB) at the capture rate (usually 48 kHz). This is not a replacement for an SDR when you need megahertz of bandwidth.
| Mapping | Meaning |
|---|---|
| I/Q stereo | Left is I, right is Q. |
| USB audio | Upper-sideband audio (analytic signal). |
| LSB audio | Lower-sideband audio. |
| Mono real | A single real signal. |
The frequency field is the dial the decoder should assume; nothing is tuned and there is no gain or antenna power. The microphone or input is not opened until you press Start. This was not verified against a real WebSDR.
On macOS the audio path is CoreAudio, elsewhere miniaudio.
