Step-by-step: Tutorial-DTMB
DTMB is the digital terrestrial television standard of China, Hong Kong, Macau and Cuba.
Digital TV in China, Hong Kong, Macau (8 MHz) and Cuba (6 MHz).
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Start frequency | 530 MHz |
| Tuning range of the mode table | 170 to 870 MHz |
| Sample rate asked | 10 Msps |
| Lowest working rate | 8 Msps |
| Channel width | 8 MHz |
OnAir takes any frequency you type; the numbers above are the mode's starting point and the range its table describes. In the app the shortcut label is China, Hong Kong, Cuba.
Channels and playback.
- Checked with real DTMB recordings that users sent (fixes in release 0.2.4).
- Which radio: No: wide TV channels need a radio that samples faster than an RTL-SDR, which reaches about 2.4 Msps. See Supported radios.
- Try it without a radio: most modes include a built-in synthetic test signal, so you can open the screen and try the controls first.
- Receiving and the law: Receiving free-to-air broadcasts is legal in most countries. OnAir cannot decode encrypted or scrambled services, and does not try to. See Legal.
