AM broadcast on medium wave and shortwave, in the general receiver (AM mode) with MW and SW presets.

| In the mode list | MW, SW |
New in 0.2.7 as its own entry in the mode list. It is the General receiver in AM, started on the broadcast bands.
Amplitude-modulated radio on medium wave (531 to 1602 kHz in 9 kHz steps, 530 to 1700 kHz in 10 kHz steps in the Americas) and the shortwave broadcast bands. The entry starts the General receiver in AM with the MW and SW presets, so you can click a station on the spectrum and listen.
- Medium wave and shortwave are below what an RTL-SDR tunes in normal mode: it needs direct-sampling mode (offered in its radio settings). SDRplay and Airspy HF+ radios, and a KiwiSDR as a network radio, reach these bands directly.
- Reception depends on the antenna and the time of day. Medium wave is much stronger at night.
- Try it without a radio: the General receiver includes a built-in test signal.
- Receiving and the law: see Legal.
