Requirements

  • Windows 10 / Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • A GPU supported by the processing path you want to use
  • A source application/window that can be captured by Windows Graphics Capture

The normal package is designed for portable use and does not require a traditional system-wide installation.

Installation

  1. Download the latest package from Releases.
  2. Extract it to a normal writable folder.
  3. Keep the included folder structure intact.
  4. Run cHiDeScaler-Neo.exe.

Do not move only the EXE away from the rest of the package. Presets can reference included models, shaders, backends, and configuration files.

Basic workflow

  1. Open the player, browser, capture application, game, or other source window.
  2. Start cHiDeScaler-Neo.
  3. Select the window you want to process.
  4. Select a preset or build a filter chain manually.
  5. Adjust capture resolution and output options if necessary.
  6. Start processing.
  7. Stop processing when you are finished.

First test

Start with a light preset. Confirm that capture, input handling, and display are working correctly before enabling a heavy ONNX model or high-multiplier interpolation.

If the result is too slow, see Performance Tips.

Updating

For a portable update, it is safest to extract a new version into a separate folder first. Back up your custom presets, shaders, models, and settings before replacing files.

Uninstallation

Close the application, then delete the entire cHiDeScaler-Neo folder to complete the uninstallation.
