Work with coding agents tends to scatter across terminals, editors, diff viewers and browser tabs, and the agent cannot see what the person is looking at. easl is a native Mac app that puts these on one shared board, so the person and the agents work on the same surface.
Agents run in real terminals on an infinite canvas, next to read-only code tiles, call graphs computed by language servers, notes, browser tiles that agents can open and control, and sandboxed HTML pages. Terminal sessions persist through quits and crashes. Notes can embed live excerpts of real files and flag when the code has gone stale.
Holding a modifier chord and clicking a diagram shape, page element, line of code or command output adds that item to the agent's next prompt. A changes tile shows diffs and lets the person stage, unstage or discard files, hunks or lines, and it can show any branch or pull request without checking it out.
A local socket with a JSON schema is exposed, with command line, Python and TypeScript clients. The site lists Claude Code, Codex, omp, opencode, Gemini CLI and aider among the supported agents.
The app runs on macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon only. Terminal tiles need zmx and agent hooks need bun. The site states it is free, MIT licensed, needs no account or API key, and contains no AI of its own.
easl is placed in Assess at the center position. The idea of a shared visual workspace for agents is distinctive, but the evidence reviewed is the project's own site, the platform is limited to Apple Silicon Macs, and there is no first-person use.
