Cloud Energy Flow Reporter

PowerSync Cloud energy-flow reporter

Open Configure > Advanced settings > PowerSync Cloud energy-flow reporter. This optional HA feature pushes selected live site readings to the separate PowerSync Cloud service so it can support charge-on-solar decisions without a Tesla energy site.

Enable Report energy flow to PowerSync Cloud, then choose grid, solar, battery power, battery SOC and home-load entities. Grid power must be positive for import and negative for export; use Invert grid sign only when the chosen source uses the opposite convention. Battery power is positive for discharge and negative for charge. Select the actual site sensors, not forecast or cumulative energy entities.

The Cloud account must have the flow-reporter beta flag. Pushes are skipped until that account capability is granted; a saved HA toggle does not prove account readiness or successful delivery. HA integration setup, Cloud sign-in and the two products' subscriptions remain separate.

After saving, confirm fresh readings and sign conventions locally, then the reporter/account status. This page describes the HA reporter, not a Cloud account setup or battery-control guide. Reporting a power value does not issue a battery command.

Field reference

The tables use the current form labels and help text. They list the conditional field union: a field can be hidden for a different battery, provider, route or available integration. The instructions above explain those conditions. Existing saved/discovered values take precedence over fresh fallbacks. Rate units follow the provider; check the displayed currency/energy unit.

PowerSync Cloud energy-flow reporter — existing installation

Field Meaning / input Fallback / limits
Report energy flow to PowerSync Cloud When enabled, PowerSync pushes a flow update to PowerSync Cloud roughly every 30 seconds. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Grid power sensor Required to enable reporting. Positive = importing from the grid, negative = exporting. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Solar power sensor Optional. Solar production power. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Battery power sensor Optional. Positive = discharging, negative = charging. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Battery level (SoC) sensor Optional. Battery level as a percentage (0-100%). Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Home load sensor Optional. Home consumption power. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
Invert grid sign Enable if your grid power sensor reads positive on export instead of import. Saved/detected value or the form’s shown fallback
