Arrows Settings
Makes one batch of arrows (Engineering, shaping chapter 5). It buys what you're missing (lumber, arrow flights and wood glue), shapes the lumber into arrow shafts and your creature part into arrowheads, then runs shape to put the arrows together. The finished arrows go in your crafting_container.
You need the creature part for your arrowheads (a boar tusk for boar-tusk arrows, and so on) in your crafting_container. The script doesn't buy those.
Your shape settings apply too, since shape does the assembly. See Crafting Setup for engineering tools, toolbelts and books.
hometown: Crossing
force_crafting_town:
engineering_room:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| force_crafting_town | The town to shop in. Falls back to hometown. |
|
| engineering_room | The room to walk to for the shaping. If it's blank, it shapes wherever it ended up after shopping. |
It buys from the engineering shop in that town. The towns it knows are Crossing, Leth Deriel, Riverhaven, Langenfirth, Therenborough, Ratha, Shard, Muspar'i, Hibarnhvidar, Boar Clan and Fang Cove.
Before shopping, it makes sure you have at least 2,000 coppers (2 gold) on you, taking the rest out of that town's bank.
crafting_container: backpack
crafting_items_in_container:
shaping_belt:
engineering_belt:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| crafting_container | backpack | Where your lumber, flights, glue, creature parts, shafts and arrowheads are kept, and where tools go back when they aren't on your belt. |
| crafting_items_in_container | Items to take only from crafting_container. |
|
| shaping_belt | Toolbelt your shaping tools hang on. Falls back to engineering_belt. |
Arrows needs a shaper. Shape then uses your other shaping tools for the assembly.
With the tools argument, it gets your engineering tools from the society clerk with clerk-tools first (unless you already have a shaper), and stores them again when it's done.
| Type | Arrowheads from |
|---|---|
| cougar-claw | curved claw |
| boar-tusk | boar tusk |
| sabretooth | ivory fang |
| angiswaerd | angiswaerd tooth |
| hele'la | needlesharp tooth |
| basilisk | basilisk fang |
| elsralael | elsralael tooth |
| soot-stained | soot-streaked fang |
| ice-adder | adder fang |
| jagged-horn | jagged horn |
| drake-fang | drake fang |
There are no settings for these; this is what to expect.
- Makes sure you have 2,000 coppers on you, and gets your tools from the clerk with
tools. -
Lumber. Unless you already have
<lumber> lumberor arrow shafts, it buys the lumber at the engineering shop. - Arrow flights. Unless you have some, it buys them.
- Glue. If you have wood glue with fewer than 5 uses left, it throws it away and buys new. If you have none, it buys some.
- Walks to your
engineering_room. -
Shafts. Unless you already have arrow shafts, it SHAPEs your lumber into arrow shafts with your shaper. If you have neither lumber nor shafts, it says "Out of
<lumber>lumber and shafts" and stops, without storing your tools. -
Arrowheads. Unless you already have
<type>arrowheads, it takes the creature part from yourcrafting_containerand SHAPEs it into arrowheads. If you don't have the part, it says "Out of<type>!" and stops. - Runs
;shape stow 5 "<type> arrows" shafts arrows, which shapes the shafts, glues them, and assembles the flights and arrowheads. - Picks up and puts away any leftover shafts and lumber, and stores your tools with
tools.
Shafts, flights and arrowheads you already have are used before it buys or makes more.
Make arrows:
;arrows <type> <lumber> [tools]
| Argument | Purpose |
|---|---|
| type | The arrow type, from the table above. |
| lumber | The wood to buy for the shafts, e.g. maple. |
| tools | Get your engineering tools from the society clerk first, and store them afterwards. |
Finish arrows you were making:
;arrows resume
Runs ;shape resume arrows to carry on with the arrows in your hands, then tidies up.
;arrows boar-tusk maple
;arrows drake-fang ash tools
