Fills your five Moon Mage prediction pools: survival, magic, lore, defense and offense. For each pool that isn't full, it observes, through your telescope, the celestial bodies that feed that pool and that you can see, until PREDICT STATE says you have complete understanding.
It only fills the pools; it doesn't predict. Afterwards, predict yourself or run astrology.
You need a telescope. If it can't get yours, it says "MoonieFill: Could not get telescope. Exiting." and stops.
Run it where you can see the sky, ideally at night. It checks first, and stops if you can't see the sky. More bodies are up at night: by day it's the sun and the planets.

waggle_sets:
astrology:It runs ;buff astrology at the start, and again after every successful observation. It's the same astrology waggle set that ;astrology uses.
There are no settings for these; this is what to expect.
- Checks that you're a Moon Mage and can see the sky (it sends WEATHER). If either fails, it says why and stops.
- Casts your
astrologybuffs. - For each pool in turn (survival, magic, lore, defense, offense), it checks PREDICT STATE. If the pool is full, it says "MoonieFill: Survival is full!" (or whichever pool) and moves on.
- Otherwise it OBSERVEs the heavens and picks the bodies that feed that pool, are within your circle and aren't below the horizon. At night it adds the telescope-only constellations within your circle; telescope-only planets are tried at any time. The bodies that add most to that pool come first. The list comes from
data/base-constellations.yaml, the same data astrology uses. - It gets your telescope the first time it's needed, then CENTERs on the first body and PEERs.
- After a successful observation, it recasts your buffs and checks PREDICT STATE. It stops as soon as the pool is full. Otherwise it waits for "You feel you have sufficiently pondered" (the game's 2-4 minute observation timer) and observes the same body again.
- When a body can't help, it moves on to the next body. That covers a body that isn't in the sky ("turns up fruitless", "foiled by the daylight", "need a periscope"), one that clouds hide, and one the game says has nothing to add ("You believe you've learned all that you can", "Too many futures cloud your mind").
- It puts the telescope away once, when the run ends.
- It can take a while. Every successful observation is followed by the game's 2-4 minute timer. It reports the pool's level after each one, for example "MoonieFill: Survival: modest understanding (4/10)."
- If nothing in the sky within your circle feeds a pool, it says "Nothing in the sky within your circle feeds Offense right now" (or whichever pool) and moves on. That's usual for offense by day below circle 46, because until then every offense body is a constellation.
- If it runs out of bodies before a pool fills, it says so and moves on. Run it again later, or at another time of day, for the rest.
- As a safety net, it gives up on a pool after 20 successful observations that don't fill it.
-
These stop the whole run (the telescope is still put away):
- you can't see the sky from where you are;
- your eyes are injured ("The pain is too much" or "Your vision is too fuzzy"). Get healed, then run it again;
- it can't get or open your telescope;
- the game wants both hands free to center the telescope.
There are no arguments.
