Task Forage Settings
Runs Trading forage tasks for a task giver: Mags in the Crossing, or the peddler in Shard. It asks for a task, forages (or collects) the items, hands them in, and repeats until your Trading mindstate reaches trading_limit.
Tasks it can't do are declined. While it waits out a task cooldown, it trains Outdoorsmanship, or it can skip the wait with a Task Master boost.
Anything already in your forage container counts toward a new task, so leftovers from an earlier run aren't foraged again.
Only the Crossing and Shard have a forage task giver. task-forage uses the first of these that has one: the town argument, then fang_cove_override_town, then your hometown. If none of them has a task giver, it stops and says what to set.

forage_locations:| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| container | backpack | Where foraged items are kept until they're handed in. Falls back to forage_container, then backpack. |
| trading_limit | 30 | Stops once your Trading mindstate reaches this. |
| task_boosts | false | Use BOOST TASK (the Task Master boost) to skip task cooldowns. A boost that's already active is used too. |
| collect | false | Use COLLECT instead of FORAGE to gather the items. Only turn this on if you can collect reliably. |
| never_wait | false | Exit instead of waiting out a task cooldown. |
| wait_in_place | true | While waiting, collect rocks at the task giver. When false, or when the room is too cluttered, it runs outdoorsmanship at your outdoors_room, or safe_room if that isn't set. |
| debug | false | Show verbose debug messages. |
| forage_locations | none | Optional. Your own foraging spots. See Forage locations. |
Where each item can be foraged comes from data/base-forage.yaml. An entry here replaces the base entry for the same item, or adds a new one.

Leftovers count. Items already in your forage container count toward a new task. The count only includes the task's own item, so
some ojhenik rootsdoesn't count toward a task for roots. The script says how many it found, that it found none, or that it couldn't check the container. - Declined tasks. A task is declined when the item isn't known, has no forage rooms, failed in the last 2 hours, or is too far away to reach.
-
Items it can't find. With 600 or fewer Outdoorsmanship ranks, an item it can't find is declined for 2 hours. The script also shows how to blacklist that item for good, using
rooms: []. - Giving up. After three declined or failed tasks, the script stops.
- Sticks, branches or limbs. Any of the three counts toward that task.
- A full container. If your container fills up partway through a task, it hands in what it has and goes back for the rest.
| Argument | Purpose |

crossing or shard: run tasks there instead of the default town. |
| resume | Pick up a task you're already on, instead of cancelling it and asking for a new one. |
