Locksmithing Settings

kahlen-tech edited this page Oct 3, 2026 · 1 revision

Description

Trains Locksmithing. It first picks your real boxes with pick, then picks your lockpicking trainers (daily trainers such as a locksmith box, and consumable ones such as a keepsake box) until Locksmithing reaches mindstate 34.

It also runs ;performance while it works, to train Performance, and stops it when it's done.

Settings

YAML Settings

Real boxes first

pick_live_boxes: true
sell_loot: true
safe_room:

With pick_live_boxes: true (the default), it runs ;pick first, using your pick settings. Then, if sell_loot is on, it runs ;sell-loot and walks back to your safe_room. If Locksmithing is already at mindstate 34 by then, it stops there.

Trainers

training_box_list:
  - locksmith box
picking_worn_lockbox: false
consumable_lockboxes:
  - keepsake box
  - jewelry box
  - liquor cabinet
prioritize_consumable_lockboxes: false
burgle_settings:
  loot_container:
Setting Default Purpose
training_box_list Daily trainers. With several of the same name, it works through them in turn (first, second, ...).
picking_worn_lockbox false Your daily trainers are worn. They're removed to pick and worn again afterwards.
consumable_lockboxes Consumable trainers. They're taken from your burgle loot_container, so keep them apart from real boxes. A consumable is thrown away once it's used up.
prioritize_consumable_lockboxes false Use up consumable trainers before spending your daily trainers' charges.
burgle_settings: loot_container Where consumable trainers are kept.

Lockpicks

use_lockpick_ring: true
lockpick_container: lockpick ring

With use_lockpick_ring: false, it takes a loose lockpick from lockpick_container and puts it back afterwards. If it has no lockpick to pick with, it stops and says so.

Throwing away used-up consumables

worn_trashcan:
worn_trashcan_verb:

A used-up consumable trainer goes into your worn trashcan if you have one, otherwise a bin in the room.

How trainers are handled

There are no settings for these; this is what to expect.

  • Each pick. When a trainer opens, it's closed and locked again, and picking carries on until Locksmithing reaches mindstate 34.
  • Out of charges. When a daily trainer's lock "feels warm", its charges are used up for now, and it moves on to the next trainer.
  • Used up. When a consumable's lock "looks weak", it's thrown away.
  • Name clashes. If a trainer's name also matches something else (for example a box in your burgle bag), it says so and skips that trainer. Use a more specific adjective or move the other item.

Old settings

have_training_box and picking_lockbox are no longer used. picking_lockbox is still read as a daily trainer, with a reminder; move it to training_box_list.

Argument Settings

Argument Purpose
once Pick a trainer until it opens once, then stop. This is what combat-trainer's Locksmithing training ability runs. It skips real boxes and won't run while you're holding a bow, sling or arbalest.

Usage

;locksmithing

;locksmithing once

You can run it automatically in a subsection of T2.

T2
