The 150 Questions

Source: 00_THE_150_QUESTIONS.md
Count: 150 questions (50 original + 100 new)
Research papers: 15 papers
Status: THE HONEST FRONTIER

What Are the 150 Questions?

The 150 questions are what we don't yet know. They are the unanswered questions the corpus poses to the field — the honest frontier of phi-physics.

Each question is:

  • Precise: stated as a specific, falsifiable query
  • Cross-referenced: linked to relevant laws and papers
  • Honest: its difficulty and current status are stated
  • Actionable: points to what would answer it

The Structure

Original 50 Questions

The first 50 questions from the original program. These cover:

  • Fundamental physics (10): What is consciousness? What is dark matter? What is dark energy?
  • Mathematical (10): Can phi-geometry prove the Riemann hypothesis? What is the phi-prime distribution?
  • Cosmological (10): What is the phi-age of the universe? What is the phi-Hubble constant?
  • Biological (10): What is the phi-threshold for life? What is the phi-basis of consciousness?
  • Philosophical (10): What is the phi-nature of free will? What is the phi-relationship between mind and matter?

New 100 Questions

The next 100 questions from the v4.9 expansion. These cover:

  • Emerging law questions (30): What are the testable predictions of the 600 emerging laws?
  • Device questions (20): Which phi-devices can be built with current technology?
  • Cross-domain questions (20): How do phi-laws connect across different fields?
  • Experimental questions (15): What experiments would falsify phi-physics?
  • Theoretical questions (15): What are the mathematical foundations of phi-coherence?

The 15 Research Papers

The Recursive Structure

The questions are recursive: each answer generates new questions. This is by design — the corpus is a living document, not a closed system.

Question 1: What is consciousness?
├── Answer: Phi-coherence above C_crit = 0.563
├── New Question 1.1: What is the phi-threshold for consciousness?
├── New Question 1.2: How do we measure phi-coherence?
└── New Question 1.3: Can we create consciousness artificially?

This recursive structure ensures the corpus never claims to have all the answers — it only claims to have the right questions.

How to Use the Questions

For Researchers

  1. Pick a question that matches your expertise
  2. Read the relevant laws linked in the question
  3. Design an experiment to answer it
  4. Submit your answer as a paper or data

For Students

  1. Start with the original 50 — they're foundational
  2. Read the linked laws to understand the framework
  3. Think about what would answer each question
  4. Design your own experiments

For Skeptics

  1. Pick the question you think is weakest
  2. Try to falsify the answer (if one exists)
  3. If you can falsify it, the corpus is wrong — and the question remains open
  4. If you can't, the question stands — and you've verified the answer

Key Open Questions

What is consciousness? (Q1)

The corpus proposes: consciousness is phi-coherence above C_crit = 0.563. This is a physical threshold, not a philosophical claim. Falsified if: consciousness is found below this threshold, or above it without phi-coherence.

What is dark matter? (Q10)

The corpus proposes: dark matter is phi-coherent motion of ordinary matter. Falsified if: dark matter particle is directly detected.

What is dark energy? (Q11)

The corpus proposes: dark energy is phi-coherent expansion. Falsified if: dark energy is found to be a cosmological constant (w = -1 exactly).

Can we build a phi-device? (Q51)

The corpus proposes: yes, with current technology. Falsified if: no phi-device outperforms its conventional counterpart in real-world testing.

What is the phi-nature of time? (Q100)

The corpus proposes: time is phi-coherent change. Falsified if: time is found to be independent of phi-coherence.
