Squad Labels
Automatically assigns color-coded group labels to NPC combat groups at the start of a combat encounter, and keeps them updated as the squad changes.
When combat starts, DSCT scans all NPC combatant groups and assigns each one a color-coded label (e.g., "Red A", "Red B", "Blue A"). Labels appear on the token name in the combat tracker.
Badges on the token indicate role within the squad:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Group icon | Regular member |
| Captain icon | Squad captain |
| Minion icon | Minion |
Visual coming soon
When a squad's membership changes mid-combat (a minion dies, a captain is defeated):
- Numbering gaps are closed automatically (if "Red B" dies, "Red C" is renumbered to "Red B").
- Group names update to reflect the new composition.
When a captain is defeated, DSCT automatically searches for the next eligible candidate and assigns them as captain. If multiple candidates exist, a prompt appears for the Director to choose. This event is logged to chat.
When an entire squad is wiped, a "squad eliminated" message is posted.
| Setting | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Enable Squad Labels | Toggle auto-labeling on/off |
| Auto-Relabel on Change | Update labels when squad membership changes |
| I Am the Captain Now | Auto-assign captain on captain death |
- Squad Labels run at combat start and do not affect tokens outside of combat.
- Labels are stored on the combatant document and do not permanently rename the actor.
