Squad Labels

Squad Labels

Automatically assigns color-coded group labels to NPC combat groups at the start of a combat encounter, and keeps them updated as the squad changes.

How It Works

When combat starts, DSCT scans all NPC combatant groups and assigns each one a color-coded label (e.g., "Red A", "Red B", "Blue A"). Labels appear on the token name in the combat tracker.

Badges on the token indicate role within the squad:

Badge Meaning
Group icon Regular member
Captain icon Squad captain
Minion icon Minion

Auto-Relabeling

When a squad's membership changes mid-combat (a minion dies, a captain is defeated):

  • Numbering gaps are closed automatically (if "Red B" dies, "Red C" is renumbered to "Red B").
  • Group names update to reflect the new composition.

I Am the Captain Now

When a captain is defeated, DSCT automatically searches for the next eligible candidate and assigns them as captain. If multiple candidates exist, a prompt appears for the Director to choose. This event is logged to chat.

When an entire squad is wiped, a "squad eliminated" message is posted.

Notes

  • Squad Labels run at combat start and do not affect tokens outside of combat.
  • Labels are stored on the combatant document and do not permanently rename the actor.
