Style sheet

Type: custom, tested in production (pass)

  • Medium phrase: "A shōnen action-style Japanese animation still, widescreen 16:9: thick confident black ink outlines that vary from bold to very thick, hard high-contrast two-tone cel shading with deep black shadow shapes, sharp angular character design, dramatic low-angle foreshortening, a limited palette of blacks, cool greys and off-whites with a single hot orange-red accent, and a painted background simplified toward graphic shapes." Video anchor: "Shōnen action-style Japanese animation: thick dynamic black ink outlines, hard high-contrast two-tone cel shading with deep black shadow shapes, a limited cool palette with one orange-red accent, speed lines and a single impact frame, hand-drawn action timing with a fast beat followed by a long hold, drawn, not rendered in 3D."
  • Character design: spiky hair, narrow determined eyes, a scar, bandaged forearms, wide low stance; one hot accent (a sash) against a cool palette.
  • Materials / rendering: deep black shadow shapes, radiating speed lines converging on the action, backgrounds simplified to graphic verticals with black shadow sides, a shaft of pale light.
  • Light: high-contrast light from one high corner, deep black cel shadows across face and chest, a hard white rim.
  • Motion: the exception to slow beats: one fast action (a sword draw) lasting well under a second, with a stark white-and-black impact frame for an instant, then a long motionless hold. Camera locked. Everything before the beat is slow tension.
  • Stability line: "Strictly shōnen action hand-drawn animation: thick black outlines, hard two-tone cel shading with deep black shadow shapes, limited cool palette with the single [accent] accent, speed lines, stable line art and colour, consistent character drawing."
  • Guards: no 3D rendering, no photorealism, no soft gradient shading, no thin delicate lines, no pastel colours, no live-action look, no shouting, no second strike, no extra blades, no blood, no sound-effect lettering.
  • Known failures: none in the test take (swordsman drawing on a falling leaf). Keep to one strike; a second strike invites extra blades.
