Type: custom, tested in production (pass)
- Medium phrase: "Nineteenth-century copperplate engraving printed in sepia ink on aged cream paper, widescreen 16:9." Video anchor: "Antique copperplate engraving animation: fine sepia hatching and cross-hatching of one line weight on aged cream paper, all tone from line density, lines that shift in a slow stepped engraved cadence while keeping their direction, engraved, not rendered."
- Character design: every form built from parallel hatching and cross-hatching of one fine weight; curved hatching follows sails, cloth and skin; bare paper for highlights, crests and foam.
- Materials / rendering: no flat tone and no wash anywhere; a plate-mark border inside the frame, slight plate tone, foxing at the corners. Only sepia on cream.
- Light: a low sun as bare paper ringed by radiating lines; lit sides as open hatching, shadowed sides as dense hatching.
- Motion: the riskiest style for crawling. Keep to a slow swell, a sail bellying, a figure's head turn; camera locked.
- Stability line: "Strictly a sepia copperplate engraving on aged cream paper, one fine line weight, all tone from line density, no flat tone, stepped engraved cadence, hatching that keeps its direction and does not crawl or swim, plate tone and foxing visible throughout, consistent drawing of the subject."
- Guards: no colour, no flat tone, no wash, no pencil, no photorealism, no 3D rendering, no realistic water, no live-action look, no caption below the plate.
- Known failures: none in the test take (tall ship on a swell), but the motion was deliberately minimal; expect hatching to swim if asked for a walk or a fast action.
