Style sheet

Type: custom, tested in production (run; grade pending)

  • Medium phrase: "A cinematic photograph of an origami [subject] on a plain pale wooden tabletop, widescreen 16:9, seen from a low three-quarter angle so the folded planes read clearly." Video anchor: "Origami stop-motion animation: a real folded paper [subject] whose folds move in small stepped changes while every crease stays sharp and the paper stays crisp, folded paper, not rendered."
  • Character design: a single square of patterned washi folded into the subject, pattern on the outer faces and plain white reverse showing in inner folds; wings as flat triangular planes with a sharp central crease, neck and tail as long folded points, body a crisp diamond with a keel.
  • Materials / rendering: sharp straight creases, clean edges, slight paper fibre, a faint shadow inside each fold; plain tabletop with soft grain, soft out-of-focus wall. Nothing else on the table.
  • Light: soft directional window light from one side, a clear soft shadow on the table, every crease ridge catching light.
  • Motion: head pivoting as a single crisp point, wings lifting as hinged flat planes, in three to five stepped movements; one very slow push.
  • Stability line: "Strictly real folded paper with sharp straight creases and crisp edges, paper fibre texture visible, stepped stop-motion cadence, the paper never bending softly, consistent folded form."
  • Guards: no hands, no other objects, no real animal, no feathers, no soft or crumpled paper, no unfolding, no new folds, no change to the paper pattern, no 3D rendering, no live-action look, no flying.
  • Known failures: none observed at the still stage (crane); the start image read as real folded paper.
