Type: custom, tested in production (pass)
- Medium phrase: "Pencil-and-watercolour picture-book illustration, widescreen 16:9, in the manner of a mid-century children's storybook: fine graphite pencil outlines and delicate hatching over the whole scene, filled everywhere with warm transparent watercolour washes on textured cream paper, soft bleeding edges, pigment granulation, and the cream paper showing through the lightest areas." Video anchor: "Pencil-and-watercolour picture-book animation: fine graphite outlines and hatching over the whole scene filled with warm transparent watercolour washes on textured cream paper, lines and washes that hold their place while the subject moves in a gentle stepped cadence, drawn and painted, not rendered."
- Character design: fine graphite outline with short pencil hatching following fur or cloth, coloured in watercolour washes; white areas as pale cream paper with the faintest grey wash for shadow.
-
Materials / rendering: this is one medium applied everywhere, not a two-layer hybrid. The earlier sheet kept the character pencil-only and the background wash-only; the frame that produced the picture-book look had pencil line and watercolour on both. For strict two-layer looks use the
hybrid-*.mdsheets instead. - Light: warm afternoon sun as pencil hatching and a deeper wash on the far side, a soft grey-violet wash shadow on the ground.
- Motion: a walk along a path, a stop, a look to camera, two tail wags; one slow tracking move.
- Stability line: "Strictly pencil line and transparent watercolour on cream paper over the whole scene, stepped cadence, paper texture and pencil lines visible through every wash throughout, washes that remain settled and do not boil or crawl, stable colour, consistent character drawing."
- Guards: no ink outlines, no opaque paint, no photorealism, no 3D rendering, no realistic fur texture, no smooth digital lines, no live-action look, no boiling or crawling washes, no fading of the colours.
- Known failures: title text was dropped from one image when the title sentence sat after the medium description and before a long character block; moving the title to the first sentence of the prompt and repeating it in the closing guards fixed it. Describe the look rather than naming the book series in prompts.
