Install via marketplace in Claude Desktop

▶ Watch in the Getting Started video: Install in Claude Desktop (3:24)

Claude Desktop can add this repo as a personal plugin marketplace and install the VideoExpress Scripting skill from it. You only do the marketplace step once; after that the skill appears in the plugin list like any other.

Before you start: you need the Claude Desktop app (Windows or macOS) on a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), because plugins aren't available on Free. On Free, upload the zip instead; see Requirements and Recommendations. The marketplace is public, so no GitHub sign-in is needed.

  1. Open Claude Desktop and click Plugins in the left sidebar under Customize.
VE_Claude_Plugins
  1. Choose + Add.
VE_Claude_Plugins_Add
  1. Choose Add Marketplace.

  1. Enter the source and click Sync:

  1. The VideoExpress Scripting marketplace now appears in your list. Open it and click Install on VideoExpress Scripting.
VE_Claude_Marketplace_add
  1. The plugin should now be installed and enabled. Start a chat and try: "I've got an idea for a VideoExpress video. Help me plan it."

Updating

Providing the Sync automatically option was not turned off in the Add Marketplace screen the skill will be updated automatically when a new version is released.

If something doesn't work

  • The Plugins section is greyed out or the marketplace list is empty. Plugins aren't available on your plan or workspace yet, or plugins.claude.ai isn't reachable from your network. Restart the app and try again; if it persists, use the zip install on the Home page instead.
  • "Marketplace sync failed." Check the source is exactly ratava/videoexpress-scripting-skill with no https:// or trailing slash.
  • Claude in Chrome is only needed if you want Claude to drive app.videoexpress.ai for you. Planning and prompt writing work without it.
