Style sheet

Type: custom, tested in production (pass)

  • Medium phrase: "A hand-drawn Japanese cel animation film still in the style of a late-1990s theatrical anime, widescreen 16:9: bold clean black ink outlines of varying weight, flat cel colours with hard two-tone cel shadows and no gradients on the character, saturated but slightly muted colour, mature realistic character proportions, a richly hand-painted background with visible brush texture, and a fine layer of film grain with a very slight softness as if photographed from cels." Video anchor: "Two-dimensional hand-drawn cel animation in the style of a late-1990s theatrical anime: bold clean black ink outlines, flat cel colours with hard two-tone cel shadows, saturated slightly muted palette, mature realistic proportions, a richly hand-painted background, fine film grain and a very slight gate weave, drawn and painted, not rendered."
  • Character design: mature realistic proportions, strong faces, sharp eyes, practical wardrobe (work jumpsuits, tank tops), grease smudges and worn detail.
  • Materials / rendering: hard cel shadow edges, no gradients on the character, painterly softer background, fine grain, slight gate weave.
  • Light: strong directional light (open hangar doors at dusk) with cool fill from above; hard cel shadow shapes.
  • Motion: wiping hands, pushing hair back, a tool tapped on a palm, a tired smile; one very slow push. Set in daylight or dusk to keep it distinct from the cyberpunk sheet.
  • Stability line: "Strictly late-1990s hand-drawn cel animation: bold black outlines, flat colour with hard two-tone cel shadows, no gradients on the character, fine film grain and slight gate weave throughout, the painted background still, stable line art and colour, consistent character drawing."
  • Guards: no 3D rendering, no photorealism, no soft gradient shading on the character, no modern ultra-clean digital line, no live-action look.
  • Known failures: none in the test take (mechanic in an aircraft hangar). This is the style the skill first proved on the cel-shaded anime project; Consistent Character pulls it toward realism, so keep the anchor in every clip once references are in use.
