Install VideoExpress Prompt

Install VideoExpress Prompt

VideoExpress Prompt is the companion skill to VideoExpress Scripting: a step-by-step wizard that writes one paste-ready prompt, a start image, a clip, or an image and its clip, or improves a prompt you already have. It uses the same prompt rules, styles and lip-sync methods as VideoExpress Scripting. Use it for a single shot; use VideoExpress Scripting for a whole multi-clip video. The two can be installed side by side.

It installs from the same place as VideoExpress Scripting. Pick your platform:

See Requirements and Recommendations for what each platform needs.

Claude Desktop

Plugins need a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise).

  1. Open Claude Desktop and click Plugins in the left sidebar under Customize.

  2. If you haven't installed VideoExpress Scripting yet, add the marketplace first: choose + Add, then Add Marketplace, enter the source below and click Sync.

  3. Open the Discover tab at the top of the Plugins page. VideoExpress Prompt is listed there (under New plugins when it's new, or search for "VideoExpress"), from videoexpress-scripting-skill.

  4. Click + on it to install.

  5. Start a chat and try: "Help me write one VideoExpress clip prompt."

Already have VideoExpress Scripting? Updating your installed plugins doesn't add new ones from the same marketplace, so use Discover as above; there's no need to add the marketplace again.

Once installed, updates arrive automatically while Sync automatically is left on. Step-by-step screenshots of the marketplace steps are on Install in Claude Desktop.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Plugins.
  2. If you already installed VideoExpress Scripting, the marketplace is already added: skip to step 4.
  3. Otherwise click Add → Add a Marketplace and enter ratava/videoexpress-scripting-skill as the source.
  4. Open the Personal tab and click + next to VideoExpress Prompt.
  5. Start a chat and try: "Help me write one VideoExpress clip prompt."

Screenshots of the marketplace steps are on Install in ChatGPT.

Grok

Grok skills are available on the free trial and paid plans only. Grok installs the skill itself from GitHub; nothing needs installing on your computer.

  1. Start a chat with Grok and paste:

Install this skill into my skill library from GitHub. The link is one skill folder (SKILL.md plus its references folder); install only this folder:
    https://github.com/ratava/videoexpress-scripting-skill/tree/main/chatgpt-prompt/skills/videoexpress-prompt

Use this folder link, not the repo's home page: the repo also holds a Claude build with the same name.

  2. When Grok asks whether it should check for updates regularly, answer yes.

  3. Start a new chat and try: "Help me write one VideoExpress clip prompt."

Working in the local Grok Build CLI instead? See Install in Grok.
