Type: custom, tested in production (pass)
- Medium phrase: "Traditional ink and wash brush painting on white rice paper, widescreen 16:9." Video anchor: "Traditional ink and wash brush animation on white rice paper: a few confident black brushstrokes and dilute grey washes, hand-painted marks that settle and re-form in a gentle stepped cadence, painted, not rendered."
- Character design: subjects made of a few confident strokes: one fluid line for a back or neck, dry-brush strokes with broken edges for feathers or fur, a dilute wash for the body, a single dense dot for the eye.
- Materials / rendering: rice-paper fibre, ink bleeding softly at wet edges, dry brush breaking into fine lines, black ink in every dilution from dense to palest grey. Most of the frame is empty paper.
- Light: flat even daylight, no cast shadows; atmosphere from a wet-into-wet mist wash.
- Motion: one slow step, a head turn of a few degrees, washes that spread and fade; one gentle push or locked camera.
- Stability line: "Strictly black ink and grey wash on white rice paper, stepped hand-painted cadence, paper fibre visible throughout, washes that settle and stay rather than boiling, most of the frame left empty, consistent brush drawing."
- Guards: no colour, no red seal, no photorealism, no 3D rendering, no realistic feather or fur texture, no pencil lines, no smooth digital gradients, no live-action look.
-
Known failures: none in the test take (heron in a reed pond). See
suibokuga.mdfor the Japanese variant with kasure and nijimi named.
