Type: custom, tested in production (run; grade pending)
- Medium phrase: "A suibokuga painting, Japanese ink painting in black sumi ink and water only on white washi paper, widescreen 16:9." Video anchor: "Suibokuga animation, Japanese ink painting in black sumi and water only on white washi: bold single brushstrokes with kasure dry-brush breaks and nijimi soft blurs, strokes that re-form in a gentle stepped painted cadence, most of the frame empty paper, painted, not rendered."
- Character design: subjects as columns and clusters of single bold strokes (one stroke per bamboo segment, one per leaf), dark node marks, near forms in dense black and far forms in paler grey; a small creature in six or seven strokes with one dot for the eye.
- Materials / rendering: name the two signature textures: kasure (the dry scratchy break where the brush runs out of ink, leaving white streaks inside a stroke) and nijimi (the soft blur where wet ink spreads into the paper). Washi fibre visible; only black ink and white paper; most of the frame empty.
- Light: no single light source, no cast shadows, no horizon line; depth from ink strength alone.
- Motion: wind through leaves as strokes re-forming, stalks bowing and easing back, a bird landing; camera locked.
- Stability line: "Strictly black sumi ink and water on white washi, bold single strokes with dry-brush kasure and soft nijimi, no colour, no outlines, the paper fibre visible, strokes that re-form cleanly without boiling or smearing, most of the frame left empty, consistent brush drawing."
- Guards: no colour, no red seal, no calligraphy, no pencil, no outlines, no cast shadows, no horizon appearing, no photographic subject, no photorealism, no 3D rendering, no live-action look, no filling of the empty paper.
-
Known failures: none observed at the still stage (bamboo in wind with a sparrow).
ink-and-wash.mdis the close cousin without the named textures or the Zen composition rules.
