Field Manual

The Field Manual is your in-game encyclopedia: a recipe browser for every BlockFactory item and a statistics page for your factory. Every player has one from the start.

Getting and opening it

• You get a Field Manual the first time you join a world. If you throw it away or lose it, you get a new one the next time you join.
• Right click with the Field Manual in your hand to open the recipe browser.
• The command /recipes opens the same browser without the book. Every player can use it.

Recipe browser

The window has two halves: the item list on the right and the chosen item on the left.

Finding an item

• Type into the search field. It searches item names in your game language.
• All items shows everything; Only unlocked hides items whose recipe still needs research.
• Items with a locked recipe carry a small red mark in the list.

Recipes and uses

This works everywhere in the window, also on ingredients and products of a recipe. That way you click your way through a whole production chain. Back walks the path back step by step.

Above the details you can switch between Recipes and Uses. For a machine, a third button, Processes, shows what the machine takes and makes.

What a recipe shows

• Ingredients and products with amounts.
• Where it is made: Handcrafting, a machine (for example Brick Furnace or Fabricator), or By hand from a tree, rock or large rock.
• The time per craft.
• For fuels: the fuel value in MJ.
• For machines: their power use, either electric ("Power: … kW of electricity while working") or burned fuel ("Burns fuel: … kW while working").
• Drills say they mine the ore field they stand on; Fabricators say they make any factory recipe you choose in the machine window.

Research locks

The detail view tells you where an item stands:

Line	Meaning
Available from the start	You can make it now.
Unlocked by research …	Your team has researched it.
Locked: needs research …	Research it first at the Outlander Test Site.

Statistics

The Statistics button in the recipe browser opens the second page of the Field Manual. Recipes takes you back. The page refreshes every 2 seconds.

Section	Shows
Production	Per item: how many your furnaces, fabricators and drills made and how many were used, in the last 1, 10 or 60 minutes (buttons at the top, 10 minutes by default).
Research	How many researches are done out of all, and the Gob and Gol points on the account.
Power	Per power grid: power delivered against power wanted, satisfaction in percent, the average of the last 60 seconds, and the number of generators and consumers.
Enemies	Unrest in percent, the noise in the world, and how much new noise your factory makes per minute.

The production list helps you find bottlenecks: if an item is used faster than it is made, build more of whatever makes it.
