Weapons
You fight the steppe creatures and War Golems yourself. Every epoch brings a better weapon. Firearms are real items: you hold them in the hotbar, and the loaded shots stay in the weapon, even when you switch items, put it in a chest or log out.
- A new weapon is empty. Press Ability 3 (Hytale's "Use Ability 3" key; check your controls settings) to reload. It takes one ammunition item from your inventory per shot, round by round, until the magazine is full. Firing interrupts reloading.
- Pulling the trigger with an empty magazine also starts reloading.
- The ammo counter shows the loaded shots.
- Where a weapon takes two kinds of ammunition, it loads the steel kind first and falls back to the plain kind. In hand weapons both deal the same damage.
- Every shot makes a little noise (see Noise and Unrest).
- In Creative mode, reloading costs nothing.
You get a Flintlock Pistol when you first enter the world, and the lockers in the bunker hold ammunition.

The rocket's explosion hurts creatures around the impact and deals 60 damage to nests and groups within 3 blocks. It does not break blocks. Rockets are the answer to Brutes, War Golems and nests.

The flames also set blocks on fire. Fuel Canisters come from the Chemical Plant (Light Oil and Iron Plate, see Oil Processing).
Both come with the research Explosives (epoch 3).

TNT is used up when it explodes. Use it to clear a mountain wall that blocks your way, or against a nest. Stand back: it hurts you too. For raids see Teams and Raids.

All weapons and ammunition (except Batteries and Fuel Canisters) are crafted by hand or in a Fabricator. Research unlocks the recipes (see Research and Crafting).
