Knowledge Scrolls

Knowledge Scrolls are the currency of research. A research center writes them from the points on your account, and the Outlander Test Site consumes them to unlock technology. There are five tiers, one per epoch.

The points come from the shared account (see Research), not from the center that writes. A Golem Research Center can write a Scroll III with Gob points that your Goblin centers earned.

The Scholars researches

Each epoch ends with one Scholars research. It costs scrolls of its own tier and unlocks writing the next tier:

• Goblin Scholars (5 × Scroll I) unlocks Knowledge Scroll II.
• Golem Scholars (6 × Scroll II) unlocks Knowledge Scroll III and the Golem Research Center.
• Rune Scholars (6 × Scroll III) unlocks Knowledge Scroll IV.
• Core Scholars (8 × Scroll IV) unlocks Knowledge Scroll V.

Every research of a tier needs that tier's Scholars research first, even if the techtree line does not show it. For example, no Scroll III research is available before Golem Scholars is done.

Since only the Golem Research Center writes tiers III to V, you need at least one from Epoch 3 on.

Writing scrolls

1. Open the research center and pick a tier under Write scrolls. "Off" stops writing.
2. The center writes one scroll at a time while the account has enough points and the tier is unlocked. Each scroll takes 2 seconds.
3. Finished scrolls go into the center's output slot. Take them out by hand (crouch and use with an empty hand) or with a grabber.

The window tells you why nothing happens: the tier still needs its research, the account is waiting for more points, or the output is full.

Moving scrolls

Scrolls are normal items. Carrying them from the research center to the test site is one more logistics step: by hand, on a belt or with grabbers. A belt from the center's output straight into a test site keeps research running without you.
