Teams and Raids
On a server, players build together in teams. A team shares its factory, its research and its points. There are no ranks inside a team: every member may do everything. Between teams there is one rule: you can never take apart another team's factory, you can only raid it, and only if the world allows raids.
Until you join a team, you are in the world team together with every other player who has none. Everything built before teams existed belongs to the world team too, so a world where nobody founds a team plays like a shared world.
Type /team to open the team window. Everything there also works as a command:
| What | Window | Command |
|---|---|---|
| Found a team (name up to 24 characters) | Found | /team --create=<name> |
| Invite a player | Invite | /team --invite=<player> |
| Accept an invitation | Accept | /team --accept=<team> |
| Leave your team | Leave team | /team --leave |
| Vote to kick a member | Vote kick | /team --kick=<player> |
| Rename the team | Rename | /team --rename=<name> |
| Set the team colour | Apply colour | /team --color=#RRGGBB |
- Founding or accepting an invitation takes you out of your old team.
- Every member can invite, rename, change the colour and start a kick vote.
- Kicking: a member is out once more than half of the other members have voted for it.
- Leaving is possible at any time. You go back to the world team and lose access to the old team's factory. A team without members keeps its buildings and becomes ownerless.
- Team colour: your team's map markers (such as capsules and Rangertowers) use it.
| Shared in the team | Kept apart between teams |
|---|---|
| All buildings its members build | You cannot open, pick up, turn or reconfigure another team's buildings |
| Research progress and the Gob and Gol point accounts (see Research) | Each team researches on its own |
| Blueprint library (see Goblin Planner) | Blueprints can be passed on as files |
| Cryo Capsules as respawn points | Another team's capsules do not work for you |
| Gates open for every member | They stay shut for others |
What all teams share: the world itself. Noise and unrest count for the whole world, so a loud team wakes the nests for its neighbours (see Noise and Unrest). Ore fields belong to nobody, and neither do items on the ground or in a Death Chest. The Great Portal exists once, but every team fills its own bar (see Great Portal).
Use /channel to see which chat channel you write in.
-
/channel --to=team: your messages go only to your team, marked[Team]. -
/channel --to=all: back to the normal chat for everyone.
If you try to use a building of another team, you get "This belongs to the team ... You can only raid it." This applies to opening, picking up, turning and changing settings.
A raid means damaging another team's buildings. Whether that is allowed depends on the world settings (see World Settings):
| Setting | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
IsPvpEnabled |
off | Without PvP, no raids are possible at all |
Raids |
on | With raids off, foreign buildings cannot be damaged even with PvP |
StartProtectionHours |
2 | A newly founded team cannot be raided for this many hours |
OfflineProtection |
off | When on, a team with nobody online cannot be raided |
AbandonedAfterDays |
14 | After this many days without a member online, a team's factory counts as ownerless |
How a raid works:
- Hitting a foreign building damages it by 10, at most twice per second.
- TNT damages foreign buildings within its radius when the rules allow it (see Weapons). The TNT remembers who placed it.
- Destroyed buildings drop their contents as loot. The building itself is lost. Its own team gets a ghost in its place, which its Goblins can rebuild (see Goblins).
- If the rules forbid the raid, you get a message saying why: PvP off, raids off, start protection or offline protection.
- Towers shoot at players of other teams in range whenever PvP is on.
A team is ownerless when it has no members, or when none of its members has been online for AbandonedAfterDays days. An ownerless factory stands still: its machines stop. If raids are on, it can be raided even during start protection and offline protection.
