Goblin Planner

Fxbixn03 edited this page Oct 10, 2026 · 1 revision

The Goblin Planner is your one tool for blueprints and mass building. It copies, cuts and pastes parts of your factory, marks areas for deconstruction and upgrades them, all carried out by Hob-Goblins from a Goblin Hut. It works like Factorio's copy and paste with a live preview.

Modes

The planner has five modes. Each mode shows as its own item in your hotbar, so the icon and name tell you which mode is active.

Mode Item What it does Unlocked by
Copy Goblin Planner: Copy Takes the parts in an area as a blueprint, then switches to Paste Goblin Logistics
Paste Goblin Planner: Paste Places the blueprint as ghosts Goblin Logistics
Cut Goblin Planner: Cut Like Copy, and marks the copied parts for deconstruction Hob-Goblin Construction
Deconstruct Goblin Planner: Deconstruct Marks parts in an area to be torn down Hob-Goblin Construction
Upgrade Goblin Planner: Upgrade Marks parts in an area to be replaced by a higher tier Hob-Goblin Construction

You craft the planner once (1 Electronic Circuit, 2 Wood) after Goblin Logistics. The other modes appear when you switch modes; Cut, Deconstruct and Upgrade only after Hob-Goblin Construction.

Controls

Mode Left-click Right-click R Crouch
Copy First corner Second corner: copy Next mode + right-click: clear the selection
Cut First corner Second corner: cut Next mode + right-click: clear the selection
Paste – Place the blueprint as ghosts Rotate 90° + right-click: open the library; + R: next mode
Deconstruct First corner Second corner: mark Next mode + right-click at the second corner: cancel marks and ghosts in the area
Upgrade First corner Second corner: mark Choose the target tier + right-click at the second corner: cancel marks; + R: next mode

When you switch modes, a notification shows the new mode and its keys. The blueprint and the chosen tier stay in the planner.

Selecting an area

  1. Left-click a block for the first corner. Sparkles then show the box from there to where you look.
  2. Right-click the opposite corner.

The box covers the area between the two corners, from the lower corner up to 8 blocks above the higher one. Only factory parts of your own team count. Goblin Huts are never marked for deconstruction.

Copy, cut and paste

  • After a copy the planner switches to Paste and holds the blueprint. It gets a name from its most common part, for example "Brick Furnace (12)".
  • In Paste mode the blueprint hangs where you look as a live preview of ghost models:
    • white-blue where it fits,
    • red where the space is taken,
    • yellow where the part is missing in the chests of the hut network.
  • Right-click places the ghosts on the block above the one you look at. The planner stays in Paste mode, so you can place the same blueprint again and again.
  • R rotates the blueprint by 90°.
  • Large blueprints show only their first 64 parts in the preview.

Placed ghosts stay in the world as see-through models. Hob-Goblins build them with parts from Provider and Storage chests in the network. Ghosts waiting for missing parts turn yellow. If you place the matching part on a ghost yourself, the ghost is done; you can fill ghosts by hand without any Hob-Goblins.

Deconstruct and upgrade

  • Deconstruct marks every part in the box with a red X. Hob-Goblins tear them down and bring them to a Storage chest.
  • Upgrade marks parts with a green arrow. R cycles the target: "next tier" (each part to its own next tier), then tier 2, 3 and 4. Only parts with tiers (belts, grabbers, pipes, splitters, power poles and more) are marked, and only to tiers that exist.
  • Crouch while you right-click the second corner to cancel marks and ghosts in the area.

You can also upgrade a single part without the planner: place the higher tier directly on the old part. It swaps in place, keeps its direction, and the old part and its contents go to your inventory.

Blueprint library

Crouch and right-click in Paste mode to open the Blueprints library. It lists your team's blueprints with their part count and which parts are missing in the chests near you.

Button Effect
Save the blueprint in the planner Saves the blueprint the planner holds
Paste Loads a blueprint into the planner
Delete Deletes the blueprint

Export and import

Every library entry is a readable JSON file on the server, in the world folder:

universe/worlds/<world>/blockfactory/blueprints/<team>/<name>.json

Players without a team share the folder world. To share a blueprint, pass the file on. With the planner in your hand:

Command Effect
/blueprint --export=<name> Saves the planner's blueprint under that name (also a way to rename it)
/blueprint --import=<name> Loads that file into the planner and switches to Paste
/blueprint --list Lists the saved blueprints

Names may use letters, digits, - and _, up to 40 characters.
