Mining gives you extra drops from stone and ore, a burst of mining speed, and the ability to blow things up with TNT.

Earning XP

Break naturally generated blocks with a pickaxe. Blocks placed by players give nothing.

Other blocks that give Mining XP include prismarine (70), purpur (150–250), end stone bricks and nether bricks (50), and the coral blocks (70–125). experience.yml on your server has the full list.

Super ability: Super Breaker

Right-click with a pickaxe to ready it, then mine. Unlocks at level 5.

• Your pickaxe gets +5 levels of Efficiency, so most blocks break almost instantly.
• Double Drops become triple drops while it's active.
• Lasts 2 seconds + 1 second per 5 levels (22 seconds at level 100), with a 240-second cooldown.

Abilities

Ability	Unlocks	What it does
Double Drops	Level 1	Chance for a block to drop twice as much: 1% per level, 100% at level 100. Works with Silk Touch.
Mother Lode	Level 100	Chance for triple drops instead. It keeps rising past level 100, up to 50% at level 1,000.
Blast Mining	Level 10 (ranks at 10, 25, 35, 50, 65, 75, 85, 100)	Set off TNT from a distance for extra ore. See below.

Blast Mining

How to use it: place TNT, step back, then sneak and right-click toward it while holding a pickaxe (or flint and steel). It detonates from up to 100 blocks away. Blast Mining has its own 60-second cooldown.

• Ore blocks caught in the blast drop extra ore and give their normal Mining XP.
• Other blocks give no XP, and only 10% of them drop anything, so you're not buried in cobblestone.
• Higher ranks make the blast bigger and protect you from your own TNT.

Tips

• Deepslate ores are worth about 1.5× their normal versions.
• Geodes are worth hunting: every calcite, smooth basalt and amethyst block pays hundreds of XP.
• Mining keeps improving past level 100 thanks to Mother Lode.
