Archery

Category: Ranged Combat · Command: /archery · Super ability: None

Archery makes your arrows hit harder, rewards long shots, and lets you get your arrows back.

Earning XP

Hit mobs or players with arrows from a bow. The base XP is the same as other combat skills (health the target lost × the mob's multiplier × 10, see Combat XP), with two adjustments:

  • Distance bonus: +2.5% XP per block between where you fired and where the arrow hit, up to 50 blocks. A shot from 20 blocks earns 1.5× XP, and from 50 blocks or more 2.25×.
  • Draw strength: shots from a bow drawn less than halfway earn less XP. Draw at least halfway for full XP.

Abilities

Ability Unlocks What it does
Skill Shot Level 1 (20 ranks: level 1, then every 5 levels from 10) +10% arrow damage per rank, up to +200% at level 100. The bonus can't add more than 9 damage to one arrow.
Arrow Retrieval Level 1 Chance to get your arrows back from mobs you kill: 1% per level, 100% at level 100
Daze Level 1 Against players only: a chance for your arrow to deal +4 damage, jerk their view up or down, and give them 10 seconds of Nausea. The chance rises by 0.5% per level, to 50% at level 100.
Limit Break Level 10 (a rank every 10 levels) Up to +10 damage against armored players. See Limit Break.

Tips

  • Fight from range. The distance bonus more than doubles your XP for long shots.
  • Arrow Retrieval makes arrows much cheaper at high levels, so Archery pays for itself.
  • Archery is in Ranged Combat with Crossbows and Tridents.
