Abilities and ranks

Each skill has several abilities (also called sub-skills). They work in one of three ways:

  • Unlocked at a level, like Counter Attack at Swords 20.
  • Ranked: new ranks unlock at set levels, and each rank is stronger. Skill Shot has 20 ranks, one every 5 levels.
  • Scaling: the chance or strength rises a little with every level, like Mining's Double Drops (1% per level).

Almost everything reaches its maximum at level 100. /<skill> (for example /swords) shows your current numbers and the level of your next unlock, and /skills shows every ability with its description. /rpginfo <ability> explains a single ability.

Luck: some servers give players a "lucky" permission that improves random chances by a third. /<skill> shows both numbers when it applies.

Weak hits: for combat abilities, spamming attacks (hitting before your attack cooldown recovers) lowers bonus damage and the chance of on-hit effects, just as it lowers vanilla damage.

Super abilities

Seven skills have a super ability: a short burst of power with a cooldown.

Super ability Skill Effect
Super Breaker Mining Mine faster, with triple drops
Tree Feller Woodcutting Fell a whole tree at once
Giga Drill Breaker Excavation Dig faster, with more treasure and triple XP
Green Terra Herbalism Triple drops, and Green Thumb always works
Serrated Strikes Swords Hit nearby enemies too, and make them bleed
Skull Splitter Axes Hit nearby enemies too
Berserk Unarmed +50% damage, and punch through weak blocks

How to use one:

  1. Right-click with the skill's item to ready it (use an empty hand for Berserk).
  2. Do the action (mine, chop, dig, harvest, attack) within a few seconds.
  3. The ability runs for 2 seconds + 1 second per 5 levels (22 seconds at level 100).
  4. It then has a 240-second cooldown. /rpgcooldowns shows what's left.

All super abilities unlock at level 5. Turn right-click readying off and on with /rpgability.

Mining also has Blast Mining, a separate TNT ability with its own 60-second cooldown.

Limit Break

Every weapon skill (Swords, Axes, Maces, Spears, Archery, Crossbows, Tridents) and Unarmed has Limit Break: bonus damage against armored players.

  • 10 ranks, one every 10 levels (10, 20 ... 100).
  • The bonus is +1 damage per rank, so +10 at level 100.
  • How much of it applies depends on how good the target's armor is. Each piece they wear is worth: leather or copper 1, iron 2, chainmail or gold 3, diamond 6, netherite 12. Add up their pieces:
Target's armor total Bonus applied For example
4 or less 25% Full leather
5 to 8 50% Full iron
9 to 12 75% Full chainmail
More than 12 100% Full diamond

Limit Break doesn't work against mobs unless the server turns that on.

Skills that work together

  • Mining and Smelting: mine ore, then smelt it yourself or sell it to a Smelting player.
  • Fishing and Salvage: Fishing's treasure brings up enchanted gear, which Salvage pays extra XP for.
  • Herbalism and Alchemy: many of Alchemy's ingredients are grown.
  • Repair and everything: every skill that uses gear wears it out.
  • Taming and combat: your wolves fight alongside you whatever weapon you use.
  • Acrobatics and combat: Dodge works against every kind of attack.
