7 x 1.4 Release Meeting

Agenda/Notes

  1. Quick intros
  2. Timelines:
  • goal to have next release for end of October--Happy Halloween
  • Code freeze: announce date for code freeze on website. September 15th @ noon EST
  • Release candidate: September 26th --- this will give time allotment if we need a second release candidate
  1. Component managers
  • same processes as last release --> as well as look at release documents
  • start to sign up :)
  1. Testers
  • new sheet has been created for 1.4, column added for testers
  • start to sign up :)
  • license audit/ readme audit --> only new components (Solr views, Islandora Video.js). Need to verify license as well as audit. If they are there change change colour to green, if it is not there change to red.
  1. Virtual Machine
  • use from last release, update code- look for bugs there, if any please create tickets
  1. Task management for release -- Jira?
  • tickets marked from 7x to 1.4 - Nick completed
  • also created 1.5 branch in JIRA, to determine what is in/out of scope --> this will happen at committers calls going forward
  • look into state of deprecations --> make sure everything deprecated is removed
  • if there are any other tasks, we can create tickets for them

  • add documentation column to spreadsheet
  • use the VM to document against
  • release notes separate: standard template links to modules, in addition any new modules to be added, listing any unsupported modules, supported software, known issues, etc
  1. Additional Members
  • call for additional component managers for 1.5 release

NEXT MEETING: every other Thursday (not committer weeks) @ 2pm AST --> Sept. 4th
