Minutes

Old Business

  • No comment on previous meeting notes.
  • Starting work on implementing OAI-ORE for harvesting of theses by Library and Archives Canada (gist with example and notes) (Mark). Mark has contacted Donald and Rosie who are also interested in working on this. Mark will bring up the topic at the next committers call. The idea is to have an internal discussion and then open this up to the community.

New Business

Welcome to Anna from York University.

Interest Group Updates

  • Documentation IG (Melissa): No updates at this time.
  • Dev Ops (Gavin): No updates at this time.
  • Metadata IG (Jennifer): Notes from last meeting. Going forward the MIG will be turning its attention to developing a plan for MODS to RDF for the Islandora community. Rosie Le Faive will be joining the conveners and this effort.
  • IR interest group (Bryan): Notes. The IR is working on the CLAW IR MVP document. This has been shared through the IR Google Group and will be posted to the larger Islandora list. Once feedback has been solicited, this will be brought to the CLAW group.
  • Security Interest Group (Rosie): No updates at this time.

CLAW

At Islandoracon, we showed off the alpha demo, which was met with immediate feedback. A sandbox will be created that has a nice look and feel in order to "sell" the product. This will garner more interest in installation. The community driven sprints will begin again as soon as some basic details get finalized. Announcements to the community will be coordinated with the sprints especially after Open Repositories.

Islandora Camps

These items have been moved to the next meeting.

Round Table

  • Anna: The summer is dedicated to metadata cleanup.
  • Diego: Also doing metadata cleanup and ContentDM migration tests. He received great feedback for the multi-importer and will be working on enhancing this module. He is also working on a module to replace the RDF UI called RDF UX. Please give this a try and provide feedback.
  • Brian: He is currently working on building web services.
  • Danny: He was with Melissa at APLA and got in touch with one of the medical librarians who would like to migrate to Islandora. The Move to Islandora Kit might be good for this project.
  • Mark: They released the oai module in preparation of their migration to scholar in the summer. Many feel that Mark is a module making super hero and would like to know more how they plan and implement this. Mark has offered to do a presentation at iCamp or other conference.
  • Gabriela: They are working on moving Islandora instance to a new server.
  • Gail: A number of institutions are interested in metadata cleanup and by extension the multi-importer. They will be working on scaling and performance.
  • Jennifer: We welcome Della to the UConn Library team. Della will be joining the Roadmap.
  • John: No report at this time.
  • Kim: Work continues on oral histories.
  • Rosie: At APLA, colleagues presented on the postcard project and book live. Rosie will be joining the MIG with the hope to come out with a MODS to RDF mapping for CLAW.
  • Will: No report at this time.

Next meeting
