  • Apologies: Nick. Greg

Old Business

  • 7.x-1.3 Release
    • Draft responsibilities document

      • David reviewed Draft Responsibilities Document as it relates to DGI's experience with past releases, and confirms that it is in keeping with past processes. Nigel confirms. Melissa notes that this is what we will use for the next release. No immediate next step. We may need to modify based on our experience of the next release.
    • Draft list of modules

      • There have been no comments.
      • Islandora Sync - Christian says he will put in some work to make this ready for release. cCLA required?
      • Metadata Module
      • WARC
      • BagIt (Nick to shepherd)
      • XML Sitemap (Donald to shepherd) - needs to be submitted to Islandora
      • Islandora Scholar (David to shepherd)
      • Islandora Batch needs to be added to release page.
    • Image Annotation could come out of Beta, according to Morgan. Unsure whether or not it works on anything outside of jpeg.

    • Listeners have never been a part of the formal release. Php Listeners for Taverna have been developed by Roadmap. Php would be better than Python. Should we release this cycle? They are well documented. Step one is to accept the module into the organization, then possibly release in Beta. Noted that it needs some work to be brought up to coding standards before it can be part of a release. One other group should install and use the PHP listener framework before it is released.

    • README normalization - pushed to next meeting.

    • No issue in inviting people to speak during roadmap, invited to speak on particular agenda items.

    • License audit - pushed to next meeting.

    • Volunteers - clarification of funding situation posted to list. Melissa had some positive response to post and got some volunteers right away.

      • Can we do an RC VM for Lab Rats? This is possible, but takes time to produce. Not a lot of work to update an existing VM. Can we include a script that will pull down the latest code. Alan may have written this code.
  • Melissa will take some time and look at the VM to see how difficult it would be to produce a new one based on the old one.
    • New documentation
      • Dev review of installation docs? Need a developer's eye. Member of Peter's team will take a look.
  • Melissa to provide login credentials and wiki permissions. Peter to assign task.
  • Drupal 6 Islandora - End of life - announcement has been made. One response indicated that this was a push to update. Not too many issues with having a six installation.
  • New software offer:
    • dgi Modules

      • Islandora Sync sync needs review. no travis in there (no tests). Melissa to see if Giancarlo Birello is interested.
      • Islandora Image Annotation Image Annotation also needs tests. We should codify testing in lsap - should follow islandora best practices. Nigel to take on tests. Melissa to modify lsap.
      • Islandora Scholar Islandora Scholar has travis integration. Has been reviewed and is in production in many locations. Question of third party tools - need to check licences. Melissa to email Kevin re: his contributions to cleanup in the code. Melissa, Kirsta, Donald, David, Nigel, Peter, Paul, Mark all +1 Melissa to write Greg and Nick.
    • Metadata Module - Jordan Dukart

      • Islandora Solr Metadata Melissa, Kirsta, Donald, David, Nigel, Peter, Mark all +1 Paul 0 Melissa to write Greg and Nick.
    • BagIt Module - Mark Jordan

New Business

  • Review and update Design and Development Philosophy docs. Needs substantial update. Melissa to delete from Wiki pending a rewrite.
  • Fedora 4 integration (raised by David) - Hydra and Islandora make different uses of Fedora. Prototype needs to be built for Islandora and Fedora 4. What does integration mean? There is a Friday meeting re: Fedora 4 & Islandora. Discussion of how to align updates in Islandora and Fedora. The Islandora community needs to develop a position and write a document outlining our approach and commitment; however, it is difficult to determine what integration will be prior to initial Fedora 4 release. Mark and Melissa will work on this document.
    • What does Islandora need from Fedora 4? - content modelling/working triple store. Content model requirements need to be articulated more precisely? David to have discussion with development group at Duraspace to explore how to move forward.
