Topics for the day admin (from website - curriculum)

  • For repository and collection managers, librarians, archivists, and anyone else who deals primarily with the front-end experience of Islandora and would like to learn how to get the most out of it, or developers who would like to learn more about the front-end experience.
  • Confirm we have really clear instructions - bring a laptop, or tell us if you can't so that we can get one for you. Send out advance email one week before camp and people need to bring VM installed (sandbox as fallback). Make sure VM is appropriate to use for this case. Specialty VM - Melissa to document what image should look like.
  • Self Introductions
  • Block One: Intro to Drupal - build a front page, install a module, setup a menu, create own user & user role, permissions page (including Islandora permissions)
  • Block Two: Setting Up Islandora - adding solution packs, configuring Islandora, what are namespaces? Some modules not installed or configured so that users can be led through this process, perhaps an easy error. Set up a collection (Collection Management); change label on a form.
  • Block Three: Solr, set up search. Going through Solr admin screen. Looking at raw solr content.
