Community and Discord

Flashback has a Discord server where players share clips, swap settings and talk about the app. This page covers what it's for, how to share clips there well, and what to keep for the support form instead.

What it's for

  • Talking with other Flashback players
  • Sharing clips and montages
  • Comparing settings for your game and hardware
  • Ideas and feedback (for a formal request, the feedback form makes sure it's tracked)

What to keep for the support form

For these, use the support form or support@flashbk.gg so a person can reply:

  • Account questions: Cloud sign-in, data export, deleting your account
  • Billing: plans, charges, refunds
  • Security reports: never post vulnerability details in Discord
  • Anything that needs your personal details

A person replies to every support message by email within two business days. See Getting help.

Sharing clips in Discord

You have two good options.

Send the file: a Discord-sized copy

In the Library, choose Compress for Discord from a clip's ... menu, or use Make Discord copy in the Editor. Flashback makes a copy that fits the upload limit you choose and re-encodes it smaller if the first pass is still too big:

Discord account or server Size target
Free (default) 20 MB
Nitro Basic, or a server at Boost Level 2 50 MB
A server at Boost Level 3 100 MB
Nitro 1 GB

The original clip is never changed. Exports run at below-normal priority, so you can keep playing while it finishes, and closing the window lets it finish in the tray.

Send a link: Flashback Cloud

With a Cloud plan, upload the clip and paste its link.

  • Anyone with the link and Public on my profile clips show a preview with a poster, video details and a browser-playable MP4. Discord decides whether to play it inline; otherwise it shows the poster.
  • Friends clips show no preview, so the title and picture stay out of the chat. Only signed-in friends can open them.
  • Only me clips have no shareable link until you choose Create link.

See Sharing and visibility.

Discord status

Flashback can show a Discord status such as "Instant replay ready", with Get Flashback and Why Flashback buttons that people who view your profile can click. It never shows which game you're playing. Flashback passes it only to the Discord app on your PC, and Discord shows it to people who can see your activity. Turn it off in Settings, or use Ghost Mode. See Discord Integration.

Be good to each other

Keep it friendly, and follow the server's rules. Clips shared through Flashback Cloud are covered by the Acceptable use policy: in short, no illegal or harmful content, no clips that violate other people's rights, no impersonation, no harassment, and no scraping, probing or inflating numbers. If you see a problem with a shared clip or profile, use the Report link on that page; it works even when you aren't signed in.
