Troubleshooting Cloud
Fixes for signing in, uploads, links, previews and friends in Flashback Cloud. Your original clips on your PC are never changed by anything on this page.
Flashback Cloud opens from its server, separately from app releases. The label at the top of the Cloud tab says what's open right now: for example Private preview means new accounts and uploads aren't open yet, and Uploads temporarily paused means you can sign in but not upload for the moment. Nothing is wrong with your app, and your clips stay on your PC. Check back later; nothing needs reinstalling. If the label says Cloud couldn't be checked, use Retry and check your connection.
- Sign-in happens in your browser. Choosing sign-in in the Cloud tab opens your default browser for Discord (or Google, where offered). After you approve, the browser hands you back to Flashback on your PC. If nothing happens, check that a browser window opened and finish there; a browser extension or firewall that blocks local connections can stop the handoff.
- Age check. You're asked for your date of birth before sign-in. Flashback Cloud requires you to be 13 or older. The date itself isn't stored, only whether you're eligible and your age band.
- On the web, sign in at flashbk.gg/account. The site needs one essential cookie, so allow cookies for flashbk.gg.
- "Your Cloud account is being deleted." You asked to delete this account within the last seven days. Choose Keep my account to cancel the deletion, or Start a new account for an empty one. See Cloud account and data.
- "This sign-in has started over too often." Deleting and re-creating an account is limited. The message gives the date a new account becomes possible. A sign-in that was banned can't make a new account.
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| No active plan | Uploading needs a plan. Choose one in the Cloud tab. Watching, profiles and friends don't need a plan. |
| Daily upload limit reached | Wait until your daily allowance frees up, or move to a larger plan. Plus allows 5 GB a day, Pro 20 GB, Creator 50 GB. |
| Storage full | Delete Cloud clips you don't need, or move to a larger plan. |
| Clip larger than your plan allows | Trim it, make a smaller copy, or move to a larger plan. Plus allows 1 GB per clip, Pro 2 GB, Creator 4 GB. |
| Plan item limit reached | Plus holds 500 clips and screenshots, Pro 2,000, Creator 5,000. Delete some or move up. |
| Screenshot too large | Each screenshot can be up to 64 MB and 7680×4320 pixels. |
| Failed renewal | Uploads pause after 7 days while payment retries. Update your payment method through Manage billing. |
With automatic uploads on, a paused queue gives you one tray notice a day rather than a stream of errors, and it picks up again once the reason is fixed. Plans and limits are on Cloud plans and billing.
- Started under another Cloud account: it resumes after you sign in to that account.
- Saved by 0.7.40 or earlier: it can't be resumed after updating. Discard it and upload again from your original, which was never changed.
Cloud has generous daily limits per account on changing who can see clips, making new links, downloading your data, changing your profile or picture, and sending reports. If you see "Try again tomorrow", you've reached one of them for today. Nothing you already have was changed, and the limit resets the next day. See Reporting and safety.
From 0.8.0, new uploads start as Only me, which has no shareable link. That's on purpose. To share it, choose Create link on the clip: it switches the clip to Anyone with the link and copies the link. Or set Who sees new uploads under Automatic and voice uploads in the Cloud tab's Account section.
- Friends clips show no preview on purpose, so the title and picture stay out of chats.
- Only me clips have no public link.
- Anyone with the link and Public on my profile clips carry a poster, video details and a browser-playable MP4. Discord decides whether to play it inline; if it doesn't, it shows the poster.
- Discord keeps its own copy of a preview for a while, so a change of visibility can take time to show there. Copies other services already made can't be recalled; Get a new link makes the old link stop working for good.
- Check the clip's visibility. Friends see clips set to Friends or Public on my profile, not Only me, and link-only clips aren't listed.
- Check the friendship. Friendships are mutual; a request has to be accepted.
- Check the feed window. The feed shows friends' clips from the last 30 days.
- Check the region. Profiles and friends are open in the United States for now.
- Teen accounts. Accounts of people aged 13 to 17 always have friends-only profiles and can't post clips publicly.
-
flashbk.gg/<username>leads toflashbk.gg/u/<username>only while profiles are open. Otherwise it's an ordinary missing page. - An old @username never points to the new one, by design. Ask your friend for their current @username.
- A profile shows its picture, name and clips only to the people its owner chose (friends by default). Everyone else sees just the @username and Add friend.
Profiles, friends and the feed are open in the United States only for now. Elsewhere, your own clips, uploads, billing and share links work as normal, and social pages say the features aren't available in your region yet.
- Uploads stop right away.
- Share links keep working for 30 days, and the app shows the removal date.
- Thirty days after the plan ends, that account's Cloud clips are permanently deleted unless you subscribe again.
- Clips on your PC are never touched.
Details are on flashbk.gg/refunds, which is authoritative.
Use the Retry button on the Cloud page. If it keeps failing, check your connection and that your browser can reach flashbk.gg.
Plans are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout. For card, receipt or refund questions, use the support form (Billing) or Link support. Your card statement shows "LINK.COM*" with Flashback.
You can delete your Cloud account in the app or at flashbk.gg/account. It cancels any plan and takes your clips off the web straight away, then deletes everything after seven days. Changed your mind? Sign in again within those seven days and choose Keep my account: your clips and profile come back, though a cancelled plan stays cancelled. Your clips on your PC are never touched. See Cloud account and data.
On the web, deleting asks you to confirm it's you unless you signed in within the last few minutes. If the app says the deletion details expired, close the window and open it again.
