Voice2Win User Guide

Voice2Win is a desktop dictation application that turns microphone input into text and inserts it directly into the application you are using. Speech recognition and optional artificial intelligence (AI) text enhancement run locally. An internet connection is normally needed only to download models.

What Voice2Win can do

• Dictate short or long text into almost any application with a global keyboard shortcut.
• Use either OpenAI Whisper or NVIDIA Parakeet as the main speech-recognition engine.
• Show preliminary text while you are still speaking with block or stream transcription.
• Improve a transcription with a local AI model, or apply a spoken instruction to selected text and replace it in place.
• Start programs, open files, folders, and websites, or send keyboard shortcuts with voice commands.
• Record multi-person conversations and separate the contributions by speaker.
• Use a phone or tablet as a remote control and, with a secure connection, as a microphone.
• Keep a searchable daily history of transcriptions, including playback and retranscription when audio was saved.
• Assign speech recognition and AI enhancement independently to the main processor, a graphics card, a supported local AI server, or another Voice2Win computer.

1. Install and complete the first-run setup.
