This page is about the wiki. QElectroTech itself is translated separately.
Configuration → Configurer QElectroTech → Général (Settings → Configure QElectroTech → General), tab Langues (Languages). The change is applied the next time QElectroTech starts.
The English interface calls a page of a project a sheet; French, the
language QElectroTech is written in, calls it a folio, and many pages of
this wiki still do too. Since
PR #1216
(2 October 2026) every English menu, dialog and message says sheet, as do the
captions of the shipped title blocks. Variable names do not change with the
language: %folio, %{folio-id} and the others work as before.
Other recent fixes to the English interface: broken and machine-translated wording (PR #1124) and 175 strings that still showed in French (PR #1261). Options added since then can show in French until they are translated.
The Brazilian Portuguese translation (Brézilien, Brazilian, in the language list) was updated on 30 September 2026 (PR #1189), from a corrected file posted on forum topic 3205: 266 strings that had no translation now have one, and 29 were corrected.
The interface translations are the lang/qet_<language>.ts files in the
source repository,
edited with Qt Linguist. The source text is French.
lang/phrase/ holds a phrase book for each language
(qet_fr_<language>.qph). Open yours in Qt Linguist (Phrases → Open Phrase
Book) and Linguist offers a suggested translation for each string as you work,
to accept or correct. Since
PR #1006
(24 September 2026) there is one for every language QElectroTech ships; most
suggestions in them were made by machine translation, so check each one. Phrase
books are never built into the program, so a wrong suggestion only matters if
it is accepted.
Send a finished translation as a pull request, or post the file on the forum.
