Halfsip Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Halfsip is an iPhone app developed and provided by Hajime Nakamura as an individual. This page explains what the app does and does not collect.
The app has no account registration. It never asks for your name, email address, or phone number, and there is no login.
The drinks you log, their times and caffeine amounts, your custom drinks, and your settings (half-life, guide line, bedtime) are stored only on your device.
- They are never sent to the developer's servers (the app has no such server)
- Deleting the app deletes the on-device data
The app does not use analytics or crash-reporting services, and does not send your data to any third party.
If you turn on Apple Health in Halfsip Pro, the app writes the caffeine amount of each drink you log to the Health app (Dietary Caffeine). The app does not read any data from Health. This happens only after you allow it on the iOS permission screen, and you can turn it off anytime in the Health app or in iOS Settings. Data written to Health is managed by Apple and is never sent to the developer.
Data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing and is never shared with third parties.
Widgets show your estimated caffeine level using data shared on your device between the app and its widgets. The optional evening reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
The app does not sync your data to the developer's or any third party's cloud. If you have iOS's own "iCloud Backup" turned on, Apple's system may include this app's data in your device backup. This is an Apple feature governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (the developer cannot see the contents).
- Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Some features are available through "Halfsip Pro", a one-time purchase via Apple's App Store (not a subscription). Payment is processed by Apple; the developer never receives payment details such as credit card numbers. Whether you have purchased is determined from the App Store entitlement on your device — no developer server is involved.
The app does not request ATT permission. It does not obtain the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you, and shows no ads.
- Delete one at a time: swipe on an entry in the log, or edit it
- Delete everything: deleting the app deletes all data on your device
- Data written to Health: you can delete it in the Health app
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
If we update this policy, we will post it on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
