Knitmark Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Knitmark is an iPhone and iPad app developed and provided by Hajime Nakamura as an individual. This page explains what the app does and does not collect.
The app has no account registration. It never asks for your name, email address, or phone number, and there is no login.
Knitmark has no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising, and no server of its own. Nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer or to any third party.
The patterns you add (PDFs and photos), the position of the row band, your row counts and extra counters, reminders, drawings on the pattern, and your project record (yarn, needle size, notes, photo, time knitted) — all of it is stored only on your device.
- It is never sent to the developer's servers (the app has no such server)
- Deleting the app deletes the on-device data
When you add a pattern or a project photo, the app uses the system photo picker and file picker. The app can only see the items you choose; it does not ask for access to your photo library. The chosen file is copied into the app's own storage on your device.
If you turn on the Lock Screen counter, the project name and the current row are shown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island by iOS. This is displayed on your device only and is not sent anywhere.
The app stores your data only on your device and does not sync it to the developer's or any third party's cloud.
If you have iOS's own "iCloud Backup" turned on, Apple's system may include this app's data in your device backup, allowing it to be restored (e.g., when you switch devices). This is an Apple feature governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (the developer cannot see the contents).
- Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Some features are available through "Knitmark Pro", a one-time purchase via Apple's App Store (not a subscription). Payment is processed by Apple; the developer never receives payment details such as credit card numbers. Whether you have purchased is determined from the App Store entitlement on your device — no developer server is involved. Information about App Store purchases is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.
The app does not request ATT permission. It does not obtain the advertising identifier (IDFA), does not track you, and shows no ads.
- Delete a project: touch and hold a project in the list, or use "Delete project" in the project details
- Delete everything: deleting the app deletes all data on your device
The app does not collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including children under 13.
We do not provide, share, or sell your data. There is none to share.
If we update this policy, we will post it on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
