this is a request to be able to change a model's scale during runtime (through a tcl interface). This is effectively what folks are looking for when they ask for "phaser support" - meaning that you could take a model of a beam, and then stretch it out to some magnitude along a particular axis so it could show a phaser in space.

The ability to scale on load already exists, so presumably this would alter the same parameters at runtime and take care of adjusting any rendering bounding volumes, etc.
