Training: Import Data into an Application

What you'll learn: how to bulk-load records into a data model from a file. You need: Administrator access type, an application with at least one deployed data model. Time: 5 minutes.

Steps

  1. Go to Left menu → Data Management → Import Data. (Fallback: header Search.) Import data
  2. Pick the Data Model to import into. The Data Model Fields tree activates ("You must select a data model before using the query builder").
  3. Check the fields your file provides (use the Filter box or Select All).
  4. Drop your file on the Drop file here or click to browse zone — or click it to browse.
  5. Click the orange ↑ to upload and start the import.

Check your work

Imported records appear in the model's table/screens, the DATA MODELS and DATA VOLUME KPI tiles on Home update, and each created record is logged in Data Management → Data Changes with a Before/After diff.

Try it yourself

Export a few records first (Data Management → Export Data, CSV), edit the file, and re-import it — the export gives you a correctly shaped template.
