Training Save an Export Configuration

Training: Save an Export Configuration

What you'll learn: how to define a reusable data export — model, fields, format, and optional schedule — and run it. You need: Administrator access type in an application (UI label "Tenant"). Time: 10 minutes.

Before you start

Export Data runs one-off exports; an Export Configuration saves the same definition so you (or a schedule) can re-run it. Exports run asynchronously — you are notified when the file is ready.

Steps

  1. Go to Left menu → Data Management → Export Data, then click CONFIGURATIONS. (Fallback: header Search → "Export".)
  2. Click + to open the configuration editor.
  3. Type the Label (e.g. TRAINING Parts Export) and a Description.
  4. Pick the Data Model (e.g. TrainingPart). The Data Model Fields tree loads — check the fields to include, or Select All. Relations expand so you can pull in related-record fields. Field tree
  5. Pick the Export Format (e.g. CSV). Export format
  6. Optional: set a Frequency (cron) and Time Zone to make the export recurring, and toggle "Only include records updated since last export" for incremental files. Editor complete
  7. Click SAVE. Toast confirms the configuration was created. Saved
  8. To run it now, click PREVIEW DATA AND EXPORT — review the rows, then confirm. The file lands in HISTORIES when the async job finishes.

Check your work

The CONFIGURATIONS list shows your saved export. After a run, HISTORIES has the downloadable file.

Try it yourself

Add a Filter to the configuration so only active records export, then re-run and compare row counts. Try the incremental toggle: run twice, change one record between runs, and check the second file only has the changed record.
