Training: Build a Document (Report or Label)

What you'll learn: how to create a Document Design and open the Document Designer to lay out a printable report or label. You need: Administrator or Developer access type in an application (UI label "Tenant"). Time: 10 minutes.

Before you start

Fuuz documents (reports, work-order travelers, pick lists, inspection reports, barcode/shipping labels) are designed with the built-in Document Designer (Stimulsoft Reports). A Document Design is versioned and deployed like a data model or screen, and is rendered on demand from a data flow, screen action, or schedule.

Create the Document Design

  1. Go to Left menu → Screens & Documents → Document Designs. (Fallback: header Search.)
  2. Click +, enter a Name (e.g. Training Part Label), optional Description, leave Active checked → orange +. Create Document Design
  3. Click the design's name to open its detail (tabs: DETAILS, VERSIONS, DEPLOYMENTS, SAVED PAYLOADS, RENDER HISTORY). You can set a Primary Generation Data Flow that supplies the data.

Open the Document Designer

  1. Click the Document Designer icon in the detail toolbar. The Stimulsoft designer opens with a band-based canvas, a Dictionary panel for data sources, a component toolbox, and a Deploy button. Document Designer
  2. Insert components from the Insert ribbon — Bands (Page/Group Header & Footer, Data band), Text, Image, Bar Code, Chart, Gauge, Map, and more.
  3. Bind data in the Dictionary panel (a GraphQL query result or a render-time payload). Expressions use curly braces, e.g. {TrainingPart.name}.
  4. Preview with the Preview ribbon, then Save and Deploy the version.

Check your work

The Document Design lists a version and (after deploy) a current deployment. Rendered outputs appear under RENDER HISTORY; saved test inputs appear under SAVED PAYLOADS.

Notes

  • A Document Design can have a Substitute (an alternative version that overrides it); the toolbar's substitute action creates one. When a design is substituted, the designer warns that the original should not be modified.
  • Output formats include PDF, Excel, Word, HTML, and image.
