Training Create Configuration Records

Training: Create Configuration Records (Modules, Units, Calendars, and More)

What you'll learn: how to create the common Configuration records an administrator manages — Module Groups & Modules, Units, Calendar Event Groups, External Applications, and Visualizations — and which Configuration items are Fuuz-managed and should not be created. You need: Administrator access type in an application (UI label "Tenant"). Time: 15 minutes.

Where these live

Most of these pages are reached from the System ▾ → Configuration menu (or header Search) rather than the curated left sidebar. See Training: Find Pages Beyond the Left Menu. Each uses the same pattern: open the page, click +, fill the dialog, save.

Module Groups and Modules

Modules organize an application's components; Module Groups bundle Modules (the same grouping you see in Components → Modules / Module Groups).

  1. Go to System → Configuration → Module Groups+. Enter Name, Description, and pick an Icon (the icon picker has a searchable library) → orange +. Create Module Group
  2. Go to System → Configuration → Modules+. Enter Name, Description, and pick the Module Grouporange +. Module created

Units

Units of measure (with a Unit Type and Code) are used throughout quantities and measures.

  1. Go to System → Configuration → Units+.
  2. Pick the Unit Type (Weight, Volume, Time, Length, Currency, Area, Amount), enter a Name and Codeorange +. Unit created

Calendar Event Groups

Group calendar events under a label and color.

  1. Go to System → Configuration → Calendar Event Groups+.
  2. Enter a Label and optional Colororange +. Calendar Event Group

External Applications

Register an external application that integrates with Fuuz (alongside the Fuuz-provided MFGx Browser Extension and MFGx Mobile Application).

  1. Go to System → Configuration → External Applications+.
  2. Enter a Name and optional Default Configurationorange +. External Application

Visualizations

A Visualization pairs a chart type with your data for use in dashboards.

  1. Go to System → Configuration → Visualizations+.
  2. Pick a Visualization Type (e.g. Bar, Area, Angular Gauge), enter a Name, and optionally choose a Datasource Saved Transformorange +. Create Visualization

Do NOT create these — they're Fuuz-managed

Some Configuration pages have a create (+) option but are maintained by Fuuz. Do not create records here:

  • Visualization Types — the catalog of chart types (Bar, Area, Gauge, etc.) is provided and maintained by Fuuz. Use them in a Visualization; don't add new types. Visualization Types catalog
  • Device Drivers, Device Driver Types, Device Subscription Types (under Internet of Things) — Fuuz-provided protocol catalogs (the + is disabled). Device Drivers
  • Device Gateways — registered by installing the gateway software (Install Gateway), not created in the table.

Check your work

Each newly created record appears in its table with a success toast. Module Groups list their Module count; Units show Type/Name/Code; Visualizations show their Type.
