Training Create an Organization

Training: Create, Edit, and Delete an Organization

What you'll learn: the full organization lifecycle. Organizations group your applications into business units. You need: Administrator access type, enterprise admin application. Time: 5 minutes.

Steps — create

1. Go to Left menu → Environment Structure → Organizations. (Fallback: search "Organization" in the header.)
2. Click + in the toolbar. The Create Organization dialog opens.
3. Type a Name and a Description (rich text supported).
4. Click the orange +. The dialog closes and the organization exists — reload the page to also see it in the Enterprise Architecture tree on Home.

Steps — edit

5. Click the organization's Name in the table to open its detail page.
6. Change the Name or Description — Save enables as soon as the form has changes.
7. Click Save. The History panel records your update.

The Id is generated from the original name and never changes — renames are display-only.

Steps — delete

8. On the detail page, click the red trash button.
9. Confirm in the dialog ("Delete Organization ?") by clicking the red trash inside it.
10. You return to the table; the organization is gone. The deletion is recorded in Data Change History.

Check your work

Create → the org appears in the table and in dialogs immediately. Delete → the row is gone and Data Management → Data Changes shows the Created/Updated/Deleted trail under Record Type "Organization".

Try it yourself

Create an organization named TRAINING-<yourname>, rename it, then delete it — and look up your own trail in Data Changes afterward.
