Training: Deactivate and Reactivate a User

What you'll learn: how to remove and restore a user's access. User records are kept for audit history — deactivate/reactivate is the user lifecycle. You need: Administrator access type, enterprise admin application. Time: 3 minutes.

Steps

  1. Go to Left menu → Access Control → Enterprise Users.
  2. Type the user's email in the Email filter and click the orange search button.
  3. Click the user's email to open their detail page. User detail
  4. Click the red person-× button in the toolbar.
  5. A dialog warns that the user's API keys will also be deactivated. Click ✓. Deactivate dialog
  6. A toast confirms the update; the user's Active indicator flips to ✗ and the toolbar button becomes an orange person-+.

To reactivate: repeat steps 1–3 (uncheck the Active filter to find them), then click the orange person-+ and confirm.

Check your work

The user's row shows Active ✗ (deactivated) or ✓ (reactivated). Deactivated users can't log in and their API keys stop working.

Try it yourself

Deactivate a test user, confirm they disappear from the default (Active-filtered) table, find them with the Active filter unchecked, then reactivate them.
