Training: Expose a Screen with Routes and Menus

What you'll learn: how users reach a deployed screen — routes, and role menus. You need: Administrator access type, a deployed screen with a route, an existing role. Time: 6 minutes.

Before you start

Two pieces control access to a screen: the Route (binds the screen to a URL path; "Is Menu Accessible" exposes it in module navigation) and the role Menu (what users with a role see in their left menu). The deploy flow can create the route for you (see screen training); this walkthrough covers checking the route and adding the screen to a role's menu.

Steps

Check the route

  1. Go to Left menu → Screens & Documents → Routes. (Fallback: header Search.)
  2. Click Search. Find your screen's route — note its Path (e.g. /productDataManagement/engineering/trainingParts) and that Is Menu Accessible is ✓. To create a route manually, click + and fill Id, Title, Path, Module, Screen.

Add it to a role's menu

  1. Go to Left menu → Access Control → Roles and open your role.
  2. On the DETAILS tab under Menu, click + next to Items. A menu item editor appears.
  3. Type the Text* (the label users see, e.g. Training Parts).
  4. Type the Path — paste the route path from step 2.
  5. (Optional) Click to select an icon, or add Submenu Items to build a grouped menu.
  6. Click Save (💾). Toast: "Data updated successfully." Role menu item

Check your work

Users with the role now see Training Parts in their left menu, and clicking it opens the live screen. (Your own Administrator session shows the standard admin menu — sign in as a user with the role, or verify the path opens the screen directly.)

Try it yourself

Add a second menu item pointing at the same path with a different label, save, then delete it with the 🗑 on the item header.
