Behavior

Switches a direct USB or registered S3 HUD on or off. A HUD attached to Jetson starts automatically regardless of this setting. Controls a direct USB HUD or a registered ESP32-S3 Wi-Fi HUD. S3 reconnects on the same 2.4 GHz network and defaults to JPEG quality 50 at 15 FPS, capped at 10 FPS with an active eGPU. Register initially over UART USB or the phone-accessible CARROT-HUD setup page.

S3 installer, firmware download and setup guide covers N16R8 hardware, wiring, browser installation and phone/C4 registration. S3 1.1.0 confirms/retries shutdown and preserves registration during updates.

Usage

The display normally turns off with ignition. Use an always-on HUD Debug mode for offroad output; brightness and layout still use the existing HUD settings.

The Jetson HUD shows Jetson temperature and warns near its configured thermal limits. Check the fan and ventilation when warned.
